Luis Enrique defends Guardiola

The last has not been heard of Guardiola's tenure at Bayern Munich, with many commentators calling a failure. The latest is from barcelona coach, but this time coming as a support for Pep during his post match conference after beating Espanyol Luis Enrique has slammed criticism of Pep Guardiola, labelling him as a “reference point” for those who love attacking football.

Guardiola led Bayern to their fourth successive Bundesliga title and their third on the spin under him on Saturday, but he has been deemed a failure in some parts having not led the club to Champions League glory during his three-year spell in charge.
Bayern's loss to Atletico Madrid on away goals in the semi-finals last Tuesday was their third successive last-four exit under Guardiola, who will join Manchester City in the summer.
However, Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has hit out at claims Guardiola has fallen short at Bayern.
"I have always been a fan of Pep and I couldn't care less about whether he wins the Champions League or not," he said after Barca's 5-0 win over rivals Espanyol.
"I admire him for what he accomplished as a player and as a coach, he is a reference point for those who love an attacking-minded style of football and he's also a friend of mine.
"The important thing here is what he brings to the table, I don't think there's a single football fan who despises Guardiola, and if there is one, let him stew."
